During science students will be measuring temperature and length as two more properties of matter. We will then investigate how energy affects matter and look in more detail at how the particles of matter change when subjected to thermal energy. Students will be combining their knowledge of energy and matter in order understand how materials change state.

Fourth graders will be wrapping up our study of traditional literature and theme this week and begin our study of poetry.
We are also continuing our work with expository writing. We have been working hard to discover all there is to know about writing our very own expository piece.

In science we will be investigating matter and its states. We will begin this week by looking at the properties of different states of matter and then investigate different ways we can measure mass (mass, volume, capacity, length). We will also investigate materials ability to sink or float!!
In reading will be distinguishing characteristics of fiction written in first person and third person. We will also be continuing our work with finding theme in literature.
Writing is getting really exciting! We are beginning our adventure with expository writing. We have also started working on editing and revising written pieces of work.
